Peter Blake is an artist known for his association with the Pop Art movement in Britain. He is perhaps most well-known for creating the album cover for The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in 1967. Born on June 25, 1932 in Dartford, Kent, England, Blake studied at the Gravesend School of Art and the Royal College of Art.
He currently lives and works in London. He was awarded the titled of Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in 1983 and Knighthood in 2002 for his services to the visual arts.
