Bridget Riley is a British artist known for her singular Op Art paintings. Her clean lines create dynamic compositions and visual effects through detailed geometry and careful color arrangements.
Born Bridget Louise Riley April 24, 1931 in London, England, she studied at Goldsmiths College from 1949 to 1952 and the Royal College of Art from 1952 to 1955. Riley currently lives and works in her hometown. She was awarded the International Prize for Painting in the 1968 Venice Biennale and an Order of the British Empire in 1974.
